Beating-Up Big Bad Labour

OutOfWork
WoodVille

The bubble that is fast becoming a boil was temporarily lanced at a Gordon Campbell rally in Chemainus yesterday when a man wearing a Graham Bruce button attacked a protestor singing 'What can you do with a Drunken Premier?' at the back of the rally.

Despite the fact that CBC radio has audio which clearly indicates it was a one-sided attack, not a 'scuffle' as reported by the not-so Giant '98, Mr. Campbell, as is wont in all matters problematic, created a false-equivalency where there was none by saying that he was not happy with the fact that:

'Both parties engaged in a fight' .

And as for Mr. Bruce, he the BC Liberal Party's current Labour minister who is in big, big trouble in the Cowichan-Ladysmith riding, he blamed it all on big, bad labour trying to unseat him.

Imagine that, labour trying to defeat the (child)Labour minister of a government that has done everything in it's power to smash unions in every sector of the Province, public and private.

But the real irony here is the fact that the protestor who was attacked was an unemployed forestry worker.

Guess he couldn't get one of those plum downtown Chemainus Tourism B.C. jobs rolling raw logs.

Golden Decade indeed.
