The Double E Conservative Candidate in PoMoCo Beats...

.
.....No One.

First a representative sampling from one of the stenographic proMedia news reports on the 'event':

COQUITLAM, B.C. - The B.C. Conservatives have taken their first step toward getting a foothold in the provincial legislature by nominating a candidate for a coming byelection in the Metro Vancouver riding of Port Moody-Coquitlam.

Christine Clarke will go after the seat left vacant when Liberal Iain Black resigned to become president and CEO of the Vancouver Board of Trade.

Conservative leader John Cummins says Clarke's selection by party members in the riding starts his party on the path to offering change for the better in B.C., and the Tories will focus on things like keeping taxes low and challenging public sector unions....

Now.

Given the potential for a misdirection play here given the the root of the Double-E candidate's name, just how, exactly, was Ms. Clarke 'selected' by the members of her party for the nomination, I wonder?

Well, to find that out I turned to the Con-Party website itself, because there was no information about this whatsoever in the stenography cited above (guess maybe all the really high-powered proMedia political 'reporters' like, say, this guy were too busy lapping up all that conflicty goodness from the other E-less Ms. Clark):

...Christine Clarke (bio below) has submitted all the required documentation in order to be a candidate for nomination and will be the only person on the ballot at this meeting. At the meeting all members in good standing residing in the riding will be able to vote “yes” or “no” to approve Christine Clarke as the BC Conservative Candidate for Port Moody-Coquitlam....

Interesting, don't you think, that no one else living or even of thinking of living in the closest thing we have to a 905-ish Con-Belt riding in this province was willing and/or able to put their hat in the ring, don't you reckon?
