This Day In Snookland...Who's Killing All Our Sparkle Ponies?

MaybeTheyShouldStartPushingMoreUnicorns
InsteadVille

Well...

It would appear it might be common sense that's doing the mercy offing.

From the top and bottom of Don Cayo's CCPA-assisted latest:

A new study on what B.C.‘s LNG revenues could add up to reinforces what many thinking citizens have already surmised — that the provincial government’s optimistic projections are far from a sure thing, and maybe just pie in the sky.

The predicted royalties and LNG tax revenues — enough over 30 years to wipe out the province’s debt and fund a $100-billion prosperity fund — aren’t impossible, says Marc Lee, a senior economist with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ B.C. office. But they will materialize only under optimum conditions, and such a cheery scenario isn’t at all likely...

{snippety doo-dah}

...Companies — including Shell Canada and its Asian partners who announced on Tuesday another cautious step toward their goal of developing LNG export facilities in Kitimat — are still “looking long and hard at whether their investments will deliver appropriate returns,” Lee wrote. “The B.C. government needs to do the same.”

In other words, stop counting 100 billion chickens before they hatch.

****

Only a hundred billion?

In chicken feathers?

Gosh.

I seem to remember that, back when they were first conjured up by the then publicly-funded directer of over....errrrr...outreach, the magic of the sparkle ponies was going to be worth at least a trillion.

Yes.

That's right.

A trillion.

And did anybody in the pre-election Lotuslandian proMedia call out the Snooklandians on their codswallop?

Of course not.

_______
Of course, the real kick in the head here is the fact that there are real sparkle ponies available, right here and right now, that could be used to pay for crazy stuff like, say, youth centers that help keep wayward kids from becoming hardened criminals...The only problem is that the Snooklandians are giving all that real magical revenue away for free....And what do you hear from the local proMedia on that one?....

Chicken Feathers you say.

As a matter of fact there's a proven theory that El Cheapo Chicken Feathers may help cars use hydrogen fuel in the future. The feathers would not be the fuel, but they could help store it, new research reveals.

And, Chicken Feathers is an inexpensive medium because the United States alone, generates some 6 billion pounds of the feathers per year which are sent to landfills????.

If all else fails, Christy could try wishing upon a star...

Meantime Christy & friends are off to warm climates & cheap shopping to impress our Asian friends & tell them we have natural gas.

I'm quite sure that these CEO's are hoping that Christy can answer all their questions on the future of LNG for their respective companies so that they can finally make a decision. You see these CEO's have nothing compared to the knowledge that Christy has on the future of LNG.
Now.... if her knowledge fails to impress them, maybe her giving away our resources will.
By the way, when she returned from her last vacation... I mean mission... she couldn't answer how many MOU's were signed. And of course nobody in the MSM followed up.

But which one?

(which star I mean)

______

Guy--

Absolutely.

As in absolutely nobody.

Kinda/sorta just like this recent conflicty business.

(Bob Mackin and Matthew Millar excepted, of course)

The sparkliest one of course!

Sparkliest, indeed!

(personally, I reckon most of the good premier's most important wishes have been made to the darkest of dark stars)

Had anyone like Mr Cayo asked about the Trillion during the election campaign perhaps we might now be finding out about railway giveaways and subsequent beauraucrat quietness fees.
And maybe Peace river farmers would have been enjoying the benefit of having back a railway that could deliver last fall's massive grain harvest to port in Vancouver. Something CN has failed to do and no amount of political pressure can fix.
But why sweat the small stuff, right? Think big.

Bang on.

Thanks.

You raise the obvious point Ross, why aren't the sparkle ponies going into the prosperity fund, right here, right now? If said fund exists, wouldn't it be in the snooklandian's best interest to keep us updated on the fund's balance? Or could it be that Christy and her bunch really aren't all that concerned with the future generations they are setting up for success. Makes one wonder.

It really does make one wonder, especially when you consider the fact that they have an entire flack-hackery devoted to making sure we don't know the real sparkle ponies are right here, right now, right under the cronies' noses.

SH @ RossK

Ya know, my first thought was of a dark star...heart of darkness n'all...

Yes, "the darkest of dark stars"... and, how convenient: she has a ready constellation of them in her caucus...
