Ms. Clark's WWI Statement....Whose Freedom Was That, Anyway?

From the ending of the statement from our Premier and our (self-declared) Foreign Minister regarding the start of the first world war 100 years ago:

...“As we remember their sacrifices, we should also reflect on the better times in which we live. Immigration and trade have made our country stronger and brought our world closer together than ever before.

“That world is still troubled, and I thank those who continue to fight for our freedom.

“Let us never forget that it comes at a price.”

Gosh.

Which one of 'our' freedoms, exactly, did 6,225 British Columbians die for in WWI Ms. Clark?

Let's start with trade, shall we....

Was it the freedom to make sure that we would be able, through our French allies, to buy Serbian pork in perpetuity?

And, while we're at it, you do know that many call it 'the war to end all wars' for a reason...

Right?
