When The Rumours Get Weird, Ron Obvious Turns Pro.

Ya.

You read that header right.

The Globe's Mr. Gary Mason hates rumour mongering.

Because the old sportswriter would never, ever stoop to such a thing.

The Exile has the story....

______
My favourite mangling of that particular Thompsonism came from my old editor, who butchered my stuff back when I was a pseudo sportswriter for a day or three...He uttered the following when some where around Rogue River on the I-5 as we winged our way towards Oakland..."When the going gets weird, the weird move to Oregon"....Oh wait...Maybe he said that while we were hitting fungoes in the desert....I just can't quite remember now...
Of course, sometimes you can mangle the thing to fit pretty much any bizarre situation...Including faux 'Quick Win' probes...

I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post something on Ron Obvious's FB page - I doubt he'll leave it up for long but anyway here's a copy of same:
Gary: I notice you've tweeted about former BCTF head Susan Lambert's reporting a rumour (clearly labelled as such) is irresponsible. Not quite sure how you came to that conclusion...and, furthermore, I'll be more than happy to see you tweet (or publish in your column) a promise that you (as a paid journalist) will be foregoing the practice of reporting RUMOURS yourself.
Your self-inflicted wounds are only slightly less harmful than the ones Bill Good is inflicting with his highly non-independent observations about lemming like behavior. How you guys can accept salaries as so called professionals is a huge mystery to me!

Rumour:Clark to announce Sept 23. Three tiers of sweeping Changes to School Act to privatize

You mean like the ALR split up between Northern and Southern BC, Education Minister assbender is about to do the same based on Geography.

Living up north at the time of
G Campbell's scorch and burn policy in the early days of the "new era"... when they were tearing up HEU> contracts they said they wouldn't do that either remember that?, that cost the province 84 million in damages to the HEU. members not counting what it cost the Govt. to keep dragging it to court, this is the same govt. that has shut down over 200 schools in the last decade, and then set about admonishing those that raised voices of concern, they told us that student ratios are dropping.. that's why they had to close all those schools I'm not surprised at all about the idea of a new educational policy coming up from our hero's the Liberals
I guess when they shut down court houses, service offices , medical units, BC Rail, ect. in the north, who needs a bunch of schools, it was tough for families, lots had to move to Alberta, then came the ensuing fire sale of our resources now it's drifted to the southern half of the province this is just chapter 2 of the grand plan, Christy Clark is not only education minister again but minister of anything to privatize, we are broker than ever in this province..
It's obvious the premier and her clan have no qualms about half a million children out of school How in god's name do we get rid of this horrible Govt. is all I want to know?... I still can't believe this is all right with Ms. Clark's supporters? astounding...
And lastly Good -Bye to Bill Good the new line up is far better. we just need to nudge out the other oldies Baldry / Palmer. surely there are other voices out there to question the Dean and his sidekick and the odious and dismal Micheal Campbell, every day he slams a union or public servant somewhere, , my radio goes off when he comes on
Gary Mason either needs to be on some meds or off them but BC. is a nightmare these days, seems to be so much for so few in this province.
