This Day In Clarkland...Of Sparkle Ponies And Deflector Spin.

LiftingTheVeil
PartingTheCurtainsVille

Speaking truth to strategy.

Otherwise known as talking to the electorate like they're grown-ups.

Horgan to The Province's Mike Smyth yesterday:

...“I don’t think it’s possible for Petronas to have made the announcement they did without the government knowing about it beforehand. So what do you do? You do year-end interviews and you say, ‘I think people should be better parents and John Horgan’s sexist.’

“That’s a pretty good deflection.”

For the record, Horgan said he disagrees with Clark on both of her “distracting” diatribes.

He said he doesn’t bear any gender bias toward Clark or anyone else, pointing out the number of women in key critic portfolios in the NDP caucus.

“To be called out like that without any evidence was really disappointing,” he said.

“I have tremendous respect for the premier’s abilities as a fiercely partisan politician. I’m dismissive of her values and her ideology and her approach to government — not her abilities.”

On the issue of the child pipeline protesters on Burnaby Mountain, Horgan said he initially agreed with Clark that it was inappropriate for parents to let their kids cross police lines.

But he said he was won over by the parents, who explained their 11-year-old daughters made their own decisions to cross the line in a conscientious act of civil disobedience.

“I’ve raised my own children to have a point of view, to be proud of their own ideas, to explore what they believe in — that appears to be what those parents were doing also,” Horgan said...

Now.

We all now understand, allegedly, that bloggers are just idiots without any credibility and all that.

But...

You know.

And such as.

****

And in other (but probably not unrelated) news....

It looks like the Dipper braintrust has decided that, if the Snooklandians won't have legislative sessions wherein the puffed-up punditry hanging out in the press gallery and/or the local watering holes can get their stories handed to them on a silver platter, they will instead send Horgan out to the regions to make their own.

Make their own news I mean.

This is a strategy that has worked for the Snooklandians before and, apparently, Mike Harcourt as well.

Personally, I actually think it is a good, and important one, again, especially if the legislature is never in session.

Democric or more like the other D word?
Was that on a friday afternoon?

Claims of being fogged in could always be verified by checking with transport company to see if all departures left that day

legislative sessions wherein the puffed-up punditry hanging out in the press gallery ..... will be covering the Brian Bonney / Mark Robertson Court ElectionBC violations case which will probably have a publication ban put in place by the Judge .... upon request of the BC Liberal Party....... and as far as legislation sitting sessions ... the Bonney / Robertson affair will be over, subject to appeals which ......goes a long way to explain why the BC NDP spent one Question Period asking 19 Questions of BC Liberals eg Premier as to her relationship to Bloy and Bonney, eh

Excuse me Mr. K..

I emailed John Horgan after reading the Mike Smyth piece..

I told Horgan to avoid talking to back-stabbing slimeballs like Mikey Smyth..

I also mentioned, Mike Smyth`s piece on John Horgan, it has a picture of a smiling Christy Clark atop the written words, the article is filled with Christy Clark quotes..

Mike Smyth along with the other Vancouver Sun/The Province corporate stenographers will launch the usual bile attacks upon the NDP once we get closer to Election day..All BC Liberal scandals will be swept under now bulging rigs..

Told Horgan he has no media friends, only enemies and it will get worse...Balderdash, Palmer, Fletcher, and those goddamn corporate owned media giants march to the piper`s tunes..

and there is of course..

This.

LNG in B.C. is dead...You just watch and learn friends, you`ll see BC`s media in action, they will forget all about LNG, what $trillion dollar Pammy bear promises, what prosperity fund, what debt elimination..

BC`s media will move onto the next BC Liberal perpetual motion machine promise.

And there is also this..

From the LNG Journal(I`ve used up my free articles)

"Other Canadian LNG projects may follow lead of Petronas and put ventures on hold

The Canadian LNG province of British Columbia is contemplating the impact of the Pacific Northwest LNG project led by Malaysia's Petronas delaying its final investment decision for the $35-billion venture, citing among other reasons the viability of LNG projects in a world of slumping oil prices." Full Article

______________

Furthermore, in a Globe n Mail article...Of $11 billion dollars worth of Petronas business in B.C. (If the decided to build, they didn`t)...$8 billion dollars worth of the work, procurement was offshore..

Fuck LNG

Petronas wants engineering work for B.C. LNG venture to be shifted offshore

"Petronas plans to push contractors to shift more engineering work for a proposed B.C. liquefied natural gas venture to lower-cost centres offshore as the Malaysian energy giant squeezes suppliers.

Of the total $11.4-billion in estimated construction costs for the Petronas-led Pacific NorthWest LNG export terminal at Lelu Island, there would be $8-billion worth of imported goods and services spread over a five-year period."

And who reported on all the outsourcing, all the Korean and Japanese LNG modules..Who reported on it for the last 3 years...

Not Mikey Smyth, Not Vaughn Palmer, Not Tom Fletcher, not Vancouver Sun/Global/CTV..Certainly not Keith childmind Baldrey..

Only one..

Rafe Mair in the Tyee, forecasts doom and gloom for the Horgan led NDP.

Rafe, Horgan is no Dix...and municipal elections are not a good indicator of one's greeness.

My greener, than green muni, an idyll within a NeoCon stronghold, being a case in point. I've lost track of all the oil country commuters, who don't want that sharty mess back home.

Think again Rafe, it is about JOBS, people don't leave their families on a whim.

"In the recently held municipal elections, a phenomenon occurred. All over the province environmentalists had an enormous impact. Nowhere was that impact stronger than in Squamish where a little known environmentalist opposing an LNG plant there beat the favoured incumbent mayor handily."

I see the hypocrite Keith Baldrey making a reference to John Horgan & Rafe Mair.
Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the same Keith Badrey that believes blogs are trash ? But when it suits him... he can refer to them.
What a hypocrite.

Somethin' in the zeitgeist? Time to insert more hollow pronouncements from the deep end of the shallow pool, from anywhere that isn't BC:
