On The Road With Ms. Clark: Perhaps The Local Crowds Would Be Larger If...

...The Local Media Was Not Excluded From The Whistlestops.

The image above was generated by the Globe's Justine Hunter at Ms. Clark's campaign stop this morning in Chilliwack.

There is, apparently, a dearth of images of this massive crowd in the local Fraser Valley media because...

Well...

By way of potential explanation, here is just one of many tweets from Paul J. Henderson of the Chilliwack Times explaining his frustration about being kept out of the event while the big guns get a free ride on the coverage:

According to Mr. Henderson's later tweets the local media were finally let in to the event. Interestingly, he also implied that the reason folks like Ms. Hunter from the big-time media outlets got first dibs is because they have paid to be on the bus.

Hmmm...

Pay to play media at staged campaign events?....If true, most interesting don't you think?

Turns out the sharp-eyed kids working for Stephen Quinn spotted this also...Mr Henderson is indicating he'll be on On The Coast with Mr. Quinn after the 5pm news today....
5:30pm Wednesday Update: Mr. Henderson told Mr. Quinn on CBC Radio One that he was told there was a 'safety issue' that limited the number of media to six on a tour of the concrete plant where the event was staged...Mr. Henderson also stated that he was told that he was not one of those six because he was not one of the 'paying' media...

An elementary rule of political gatherings is that supporters should gather in a place too small to accommodate the group.

Judging by the photo, Martin's Liberal amateurs missed that lesson. A gathering of a dozen adults signifies weakness in support anyway but exposing them to photographers in a large industrial storage compound emphasizes the weakness.

Wasn`t Martin a Conservative?

I guess he still is if he is a BC Fiberal.

Paying Media. Laughable! So you really have to be a LIbERal to be on the bus and a paying one at that. Tells you a lot about the support they are receiving. Safety concerns? Are they worried about Crusty tripping over her words?
